Famous Pakistani actor Fawad Khan is returning to Bollywood, and Indian actors Amisha Patel and Sunny Deol have shared their reactions.
Some Indian political groups, including the President of the Indian Film and Television Directors Association, Ashok Pandit, raised objections to Fawad Khan’s return to Bollywood.
However, some Indian actors have supported Fawad Khan’s return to Bollywood, including Sunny Deol and Amisha Patel.
In a recent interview, Sunny Deol said that artists work beyond borders for the whole world. He mentioned that he didn’t want to discuss the political side of the matter because it can create problems. He believes the world is now a global village, and there shouldn’t be restrictions between countries.
On the other hand, Amisha Patel shared in an interview that she has always liked Fawad Khan. She said India welcomes all actors and musicians, and that’s what makes India’s culture diverse. She emphasized that art is art, and there should be no discrimination. Foreign artists, whether they are painters, musicians, actors, or directors, are always welcome in India.
Amisha Patel also said that Fawad Khan had worked in India before, and she liked him even then.
It’s important to note that in 2016, a ban was announced on Pakistani artists. In 2023, the Hindu extremist party Shiv Sena filed a petition in court to make the ban official, but the Indian court rejected it. As a result, the ban on Pakistani artists was lifted by the court.
However, Hindu extremist groups have kept an unofficial ban on Pakistani artists working in Bollywood. This is why no Pakistani artist has worked on any Indian project since 2018.
Fawad Khan was last seen in the Bollywood film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil in 2016. Now, he will soon be seen in the Indian romantic film Abir Gulaal, where he plays the main role. The teaser of the film has already been released.
