Cinema in Pakistan has been in shambles for the past three years, with the epidemic destroying the rebirth that was underway. Add to that the crushing economic and political uncertainty, which boosted ticket costs while leaving the general public unable to afford such a luxury, and cinemas suffered. Films aren’t being made or released. However, Eid ul Adha brings several major films to the big screen. Here’s a list of films debuting on Eid ul Adha 2024:
Umro Ayyar: The Beginning
Umro Ayyar is the first Pakistani film to introduce our very own superhero-esque genre to the cinema. The film features some incredible talent and top-tier VFX, which will be seen for the first time in a Pakistani film. Faran Tahir, Usman Mukhtar, Sana, Sanam Saeed, and Ali Kazmi play major roles in Umro Ayyar, with Hamza Ali Abbasi making a surprise appearance.

Abhi
The long-awaited love film Abhi will mark singer Goher Mumtaz’s film debut. The film’s principal actress is Kubra Khan. It was supposed to be launched a while ago, but with the cinemas in disarray, it was pushed. It will ultimately be released this Eid al-Adha.

Na Baligh Afraad
Nabeel Qureshi directs Na Baligh Afraad, which stars young actors Aashir Wajahat and Samar Jafri. The film will be distributed in theaters, though it was previously rumored that it might be available directly on OTT.
Bad Boys: Ride Or Die
This year will see the release of another film in the popular Bad Boys franchise. Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are returning with their characteristic action and comedy. The film will be screened on Eid ul Adha.

Inside Out was a popular animated picture that garnered awards when it was released. The sequel was in the works and would be released in 2024. Many fans are looking forward to it, and children will have something to watch during Eid al-Adha.
