Jafaa is a drama about challenges that arise after marriage and how couples face issues other than love. The drama had been focusing on the lovey-dovey sequences between Numair and Andaleeb for the past few episodes, but in episode 21, we were finally able to see the showdown between Zara and Hassan, which had been building up. Mohib Mirza did an excellent job portraying the aggressive Hassan, who gaslights and insults his wife. Mawra Hocane dominated the evening with the anguish and intensity she demonstrated on TV.
The depiction of domestic abuse was incredibly realistic and disturbed every woman who had either experienced it or saw it happen to someone they knew in real life. Usman Mukhtar also delivered a calm performance, recognizing what has transpired as soon as he sees Zara.
