Nadia Jamil says Hazrat Khadija (RA) and Hazrat Aisha (RA) are global role models for women

Renowned actress Nadia Jamil stated that all women, especially young girls today, should learn from the lives of Hazrat Khadija (RA) and Hazrat Aisha (RA).

According to an international news agency, she expressed these thoughts at an event celebrating Women’s Day, organized by Aga Khan Cultural Service Pakistan.

In her speech, Nadia Jamil encouraged women to love themselves and celebrate their achievements. She acknowledged the remarkable progress of Pakistani women but emphasized that more progress is still needed.

Praising the historical struggles of the Mothers of the Believers, Hazrat Khadija (RA) and Hazrat Aisha (RA), she urged women, particularly young girls, to take inspiration from their lives.

Expressing disappointment over the one-dimensional portrayal of women in Pakistani dramas, she said that female characters are often limited to romantic storylines.

She added that although women play an active role in the economy and society, dramas mostly depict them as being solely focused on winning a man’s heart.

Recalling the start of her artistic journey, Nadia Jamil shared that she always believed in learning rather than competing. “My only competition was with myself,” she said.

Quoting her father, she repeated his words: “Your freedom is a gift from Allah, never let anyone take it away from you.”

In her speech, she advised men to respect women’s emotions and decisions.

Nadia Jamil also compared women to delicate yet strong flowers, saying that a woman’s sensitivity and tears are not signs of weakness but proof of immense resilience.
