Nauman Ijaz is one of Pakistan’s most respected and versatile senior actors, with a career spanning several decades and a huge fan following worldwide.
Famous for his outstanding performances in hit dramas like Dushman, Mera Saeein, Sang-e-Mar Mar, Alif, and Parizaad, Nauman Ijaz is not only loved for his acting but also known for his bold and outspoken nature.
In a recent vlog with actor Syed Jibran, Nauman shared some humorous yet critical thoughts about Pakistanis’ behavior during Ramadan, which have gone viral on social media.
He pointed out how this blessed month brings people closer to spirituality, yet at the same time, the worst behaviors are often witnessed.
Nauman Ijaz said, “Basically, Allah sent Ramadan for Muslims, not for Pakistanis. Yes, Pakistanis fast, but they can’t tolerate it. They fail to control their anger during Ramadan.”
The actor said, “Our people’s lack of patience is clearly visible on the roads. They insult each other, don’t wait for the traffic light to turn green, and instead, they start fighting, leading to a war of abusive words.”
He further added, “During Ramadan, our behavior becomes the worst, even though we are not good in other months either. Besides that, we are extremely lazy, which is why we don’t want to work in Ramadan. People go for one prayer and then spend all working hours in the mosque just to avoid work.”
Addressing the public, he said that we misuse worship for personal benefit, completely ignoring its true purpose.
Nauman Ijaz sarcastically criticized how some people use Ramadan for personal convenience instead of taking it as the start of a spiritual journey, highlighting a major issue in society.
According to him, Ramadan teaches patience, self-control, and compassion, but instead, we worsen our behavior and become more intolerant.
