After a lengthy wait, Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed fans were finally able to watch Barzakh on Zee Zindagi’s YouTube channel and Zee5. The two stars returned after Zindagi Gulzar Hai in Asim Abbasi’s directorial, and the show ended up being a great letdown for viewers. Barzakh drew a lot of criticism for its homosexual themes as well as strong and filthy vocabulary that jarred the audience’s sensitivities. The show has now been removed from YouTube in Pakistan.

“The feedback has been quite overwhelming. Mesmerised, blown away, and proud are just the adjectives that I’ve gotten to hear. People are really overwhelmed, intrigued, curious and have slowly understood that this is not a show that they can just binge-watch. It’s something that they have to really focus on and watch with a lot of attention.”
