Sabeena Farooq has expressed her outrage and frustration at the rape and murder of seven-year-old Sarim. She took to Instagram to upload a post urging the Sindh government to take swift action against the guilty.
Sabeena requested justice, stating, “Can we all please spread this as much as possible so that the authorities can take action? I appeal that the Sindh government investigate and punish those responsible for this, since there has already been enough of it.”
“The kid was only 7,” she said, underscoring the horror of the incident. She also asked her followers to raise awareness and put pressure on the government to act.
Sarim was kidnapped on January 7 and discovered dead 11 days later in a water tank near his home. Reports confirm that he was sexually molested before being slain, causing great public indignation.
Karachi has seen an increase in child abductions, with at least five documented occurrences in January. Zahra Batool, 15, went missing from Gulshan-e-Iqbal, while Ayan, 10, disappeared from Orangi Town. Additionally, 5-year-old Aliyan and 6-year-old Ali Raza are still missing after disappearing from Garden West.
