Shaista Lodhi recounts interesting fan interactions in Madina

Shaista Lodhi recently shared an incident where people recorded her while she was praying in Riaz Ul Jannah at Masjid-e-Nabwi in Madina. She talked about this experience during her appearance on AAN TV’s Ramadan iftar show, “Bahar-e-Ramadan.” Along with host Faysal Quraishi, she discussed how celebrities struggle with privacy in public places.

Faysal Quraishi mentioned that many of his friends have faced awkward situations where strangers ask them weird questions, especially when they are performing Umrah.

Talking about her own experience, Shaista Lodhi said, “In Riaz Ul Jannah, women get limited time to pray, and they are deeply focused in that moment. I was praying peacefully when I noticed some women taking my videos and asking, ‘What are you doing here?’”

In a lighthearted manner, Faysal Quraishi joked, “Didn’t you say you had set up a biryani stall here?”

Shaista Lodhi further shared, “I was praying in Hateem when I saw people secretly recording me. I don’t understand what they will do with those videos. Maybe they thought I had used some special source to pray there. But honestly, I was just standing in the regular line and got a chance. I didn’t even know in advance that I would be able to pray in Hateem.”

Faysal Quraishi added, “This is why elders always say, ‘Think before you speak.’ Sometimes, fans don’t mean any harm, but in trying to start a conversation, they say strange things.”

Earlier in the show, Shaista Lodhi also explained why she no longer hosts morning shows. She said she found the routine repetitive and wanted to explore other opportunities. Lodhi, who previously hosted “Good Morning Pakistan” and “Utho Jago Pakistan,” shared that hosting a daily morning show is very demanding.

“You lose your personal and social life. You don’t even get time to understand what’s happening in your own life. I felt that my family and other relationships needed me, so I decided to step back,” she explained.
