Tauqeer Nasir is a renowned Pakistani television actor. He has also worked for the government as the Director General (DG) of the Pakistan National Council of Arts. Tauqeer Nasir’s major plays include: Yaad Piya Ki Aye, Thakan, Baal o Par, Kashkol, Sona Chandi, Landa Bazaar, Rahain, Reza Reza, Panah, Aik Haqeeqat Aik Afsansa, Samandar, and Dehleez. Tauqeer Nasir was also granted the Tamgha e Imtiaz and Sitara e Imtiaz by the Pakistani government for his contributions to art and culture.
He recently appeared on the Samaa TV show, Coffee with Samaa, hosted by Naeem Hanif. On the episode, Tauqeer Nasir admitted that he turned down star actress Saba Qamar at an audition for her project.
When asked about Saba, Tauqeer Nasir commented, “Saba Qamar is a brilliant actor.” She accomplished an excellent job in the drama serial Thakkan alongside Mr. I really appreciate her, and I’ll tell you why. I’d like to share that I previously auditioned for Saba but did not get the role. I did not choose her because I did not believe she was committed. She delivered her dialogues quickly and appeared rushed. She even stated that she was rushing. I was looking for new actors for my ARY Digital drama series, and I wanted to choose people that I could train in my academy.”
