In Pakistan, electricity costs for home and business consumers have been dramatically raised. Recently, we’ve seen a number of Pakistani celebrities record their protests over exorbitant electricity rates. Rashid Mehmood, an actor, recently made headlines for exposing his high electricity bill. Usman Peerzada, Shugufta Ejaz, Nooran Lal, Humaira Channa, and others revealed their utility bills and criticized the unfair charging.
Usman Peerzada recently gave another interview to Hum News. In his brief interview, he emphasized his despondency at Wapda’s unjust pricing.
Speaking about it, Usman Peerzada stated, “I saw Rashid Mehmood’s interview on this, and I didn’t feel good after hearing his interview about the unjust and high electricity cost. We are all in the same scenario; I am not sure how I or others will survive because we are paying more taxes than bills, and everyone’s earnings are the same.
The climate is changing horribly; we are currently experiencing hot temperatures. I can’t keep the AC on all the time, but when the temperature becomes too high, we have to turn it on. Wapda is not fair with billings, it is dishonest in its work, they are taking a lot of money from poor people, and it has made it harder for them to survive.” Here’s a link to the video:
