The Punjab Wildlife Department has decided to approach the court again against famous TikToker Rajab Butt for not complying with a court order. He is accused of illegally keeping a lion cub in his possession.
According to reports, last month, the court had ordered Rajab Butt to create and share wildlife awareness videos on his social media accounts in the first week of every month. This was to continue for a year to raise awareness about wildlife conservation.
As per the court’s decision, Rajab Butt was supposed to post his first awareness video in the first week of February. However, even after a week had passed, he neither shared any video nor used the material provided by the Wildlife Department.
Speaking on the matter, Punjab Wildlife Lahore Region Deputy Director Mian Asim Kamran said that Rajab Butt had clearly violated the court’s order. “We will inform the court about this and request legal action against him.”
Rajab Butt had illegally kept a lion cub that he received as a wedding gift, prompting action from the Punjab Wildlife Department.
The court had given him three options as punishment: imprisonment, a heavy fine, or creating awareness videos about wildlife conservation. Rajab Butt chose the third option and promised the court that he would use his social media influence to raise awareness about wildlife protection.
Following this, Rajab Butt met with Wildlife Director General Mudassar Riaz and acknowledged his responsibilities. The Punjab Wildlife Department also provided him with the necessary materials to help him fulfill this task effectively.
As Rajab Butt failed to upload his first video on time, the Wildlife Department has taken serious notice of the violation. Mian Asim Kamran further stated, “We will go to court and request further action against Rajab Butt for violating the court order.”
This case highlights the serious consequences of ignoring court directives. Wildlife authorities aim to set an example to ensure that no one violates wildlife protection laws in the future.
