Celebrities shocked about alleged rape of a Lahore college girl
Celebrities have spoken out over allegations that a security officer raped a student at a prestigious institution in Lahore. They are advocating for justice as well as the protection of students’ safety on campus. Prominent people in the entertainment sector, including Mahira Khan, Sarwat Gillani, and Durefishan Saleem, have all spoken out against the occurrence.
A security guard was arrested on Sunday after reports of an alleged rape of a student at the Punjab Group of Colleges spread over social media. According to a police statement, an investigation has begun.
According to a statement made by the Punjab Group of Colleges, no incident of rape was reported, and the events of Monday were caused by “false claims circulating on social media”. According to the police, no FIR has been made because the victim’s family members have not come forward.
Enraged by the claimed occurrence, students took to social media and staged rallies outside various colleges in the city. During one of the protests, skirmishes erupted between protesters and the college’s security personnel. Later, students battled with police, resulting in injuries.
The Punjab College for Women’s registration was stopped “till further orders” by the Directorate of Public Instruction (Colleges) on Monday.
