His chemistry with co-star Chandi, played by Sheeba Hassan, became the buzz of the town, and the show was an immediate success. Sona Chandi was written by famed Pakistani writer Munnu Bhai and directed by Badar Khalil’s husband, Shahzad Khalil. Sona Chandi rose to prominence as one of Pakistan’s most popular television drama serials. His other major dramas are Ya Naseeb Clinic and Girja. In addition to acting, Hamid Rana provided government services in Pakistan.
