Pakistani dramas and miniseries are at last attempting to break the saas-bahu problem mold, and many of them are developing unique plots and topics that are typically taboo in society. Inter-sect weddings are also typically frowned upon in Pakistan, and for many of these couples, society and family put a lot of pressure on them to remain together. The two largest Muslim sects are Sunnis and Shias, and for a variety of reasons, they generally attempt to avoid getting married. Firqa e Ishq, a new drama starring Hiba Bukhari and Arsalan Naseer, will debut on Urdu Netflix soon.

The plot of Firqa e Ishq centers on a couple who must battle society in order to get married because they are members of two distinct Firqas. It will demonstrate how, in the end, they are all Muslims, and that is what the following generation will inherit.
