Mumbai-based singer Shreya Basu is making headlines for singing the OST of Hum TV’s Ramadan drama Dil Waali Gali Mein, starring Sajal Ali and Hamza Sohail.

Excited about this opportunity, Basu shared on Instagram, “I am incredibly grateful to be part of Dil Waali Gali Mein!” Speaking to Gulf News, she revealed that this was her first playback singing experience, calling it a dream come true. She said, “Being in the studio, working, and hearing my voice become part of a big project felt magical.”

Talking about how she got this chance, Basu said it was completely unexpected. Music producer Atif Khan noticed her work and reached out to her for the project.

Basu is a fan of Pakistani music and TV dramas. She praised the industry, saying, “There is a lot of talent and creativity in Pakistan.”

She started her singing journey as a child in a competition and later became part of Rajadhiraj, one of India’s biggest musicals. She had the honor of performing alongside legends like Shankar Mahadevan, Sachin-Jigar, Kailash Kher, and Shreya Ghoshal.

Many people compare her voice to Shreya Ghoshal, which she considers a big compliment. She said, “It’s just a coincidence that we have the same first name, but I hope people find my voice unique.”

Basu also teased an upcoming project and said she “can’t wait to share it with everyone!”
