In Express Entertainment’s special transmission “Piyara Ramzan,” former national team captain and Pakistan’s hero, Sarfaraz Ahmed, participated.

During the program, a caller from Karachi named Asad asked Sarfaraz Ahmed a question about his weak English via telephone. The caller said, “I have seen many of your interviews where you seem nervous while speaking English.”

In response, Sarfaraz Ahmed laughed and said, “Everyone feels pressured in front of the camera and can even forget things. We play cricket and are used to speaking our own language, so it becomes difficult to communicate in another language.”

The show’s host, Javeria Saud, instantly replied, “Since we are Pakistanis, even I get very nervous. Our national and mother tongue is Urdu, so before focusing on English, we should first learn to speak Urdu properly, whereas we don’t even speak Urdu correctly.”

Javeria Saud said, “Speaking English is not a matter of pride. If you go to Spain, Paris, Italy, China, Japan, Türkiye, or anywhere else, people there get annoyed with English speakers and insist on speaking in their own language.”

The host added, “We should take pride in our own culture and language. Our problem is that while trying to follow others, we forget our own identity.”

Javeria Saud dismissed the question as useless and said, “Instead of focusing on such trivial matters, it is better to encourage and support our heroes to move forward.”
