Her overly expressive eyes appeared more appropriate for a horror film than a romantic or emotional scenario. Every glance seemed amplified, as if she were reacting to a ghost lurking beyond the curtains. Subtlety was clearly not on the menu here, as her overdone reactions turned even mundane discourse into an unintentional parody.
Arsalan Naseer In Radd
Radd was another Pakistani drama that received high ratings. Sheheryar Munawar and Hiba Bukhari both did well in their parts. However, Arsalan Naseer’s performance was a huge letdown! Arsalan Naseer’s performance in Radd felt like an ongoing inside joke, but no one else was in on it. Mediocrity has always been his comfort zone, so his mediocre acting came as no surprise. What puzzled us was how he continues to score these big-ticket dramas opposite A-listers. Is there a hidden casting lottery we’re not aware of? In Radd, his performance ranged from “meh” to plain ludicrous, as if he was deliberately fighting with himself for the “Most Confusing Actor” title. In the end, we wished he had stuck.
Amar Khan In Dil e Nadan
Dil e Nadan, a 2024 Pakistani drama, lacks focus and direction. The storyline was flimsy and unconvincing, making it difficult for viewers to stay interested. Azekah Daniel In Mein
Mein, another Pakistani drama, has gained a lot of attention. Ayeza Khan and Shahzad Nawaz were the most popular actors on the show. In contrast, Wahaj Ali and Azekah Daniel did not impress. Azekah’s character, Ayra, was supposed to be mostly positive. However, from the start, Azekah’s performance made it tough to appreciate and identify with this character. Azekah Daniel’s monotone line delivery and blank expressions leave much to be desired. She struggled to deliver even the most basic language, and her acting resembled acting! It was sad to see such a drop in Azekah’s performance this year.
Adnan Jaffar In Ishq Murshid
Ishq Murshid was one of Pakistan’s most popular dramas this year. It began as a fascinating drama with an intriguing idea that piqued the audience’s interest from the outset. However, following the wedding of the main characters, the plot began to deviate and eventually lost focus. The plot became increasingly convoluted, leaving spectators with the impression that it had veered off course and had no clear direction. Despite the fall in narrative quality, the cast’s performances were consistently superb throughout the series. Even if the plot faltered, each performer brought their role to life with skill and passion, making it a highlight.
Yashmeera Jan In Ghair
Yashmeera Jan, daughter of the legendary Shabbir Jan and Fareeda Shabbir, is now portraying Shifa in the serial Ghair. While her character is supposed to be the villain, her acting elevates it to an all new level of “Wait, what?” Her expressions are so out of sync with the situations that it feels like she’s in a completely different drama—perhaps even a different genre. While everyone else is dressed casually for summer, Yashmeera’s clothes appears to have time-traveled from a winter collection—she’s usually dressed in heavy eastern formal suits, as if she’s getting ready for a wedding in the middle of a hot.
Ushna Shah In Ghair
Ushna Shah, known for her outstanding performances in Pakistani dramas like Balaa and Alif Allah Aur Insaan, falls short in her portrayal of Wafa in Ghair. Her performance lacked the emotional depth and conviction that one would expect from an actress of her ability. Weak reactions and a clear separation from the character’s hardships make it difficult for viewers to empathize with Wafa. Furthermore, her perfectly done hair and flawless makeup feel completely out of place, detracting from the role’s authenticity.
Maya Ali In Sunn Mere Dil
Sunn Mere Dil is a Pakistani drama that disappointed all of its admirers, despite being highly anticipated. It makes little sense, and fans are hating various aspects of it. Maya Ali’s performance is one such example. Maya has appeared in shows such as Diyar e Dil, Jo Bichay Gaye, Yunhi, and Mann Mayal, however her performance in Sunn Mere Dil falls short. Her expressions and line delivery come across as forced in every moment, and she has yet to win over anyone as Sadaf.
Sarah Khan In Namak Haram
