Pathan’ became the highest-grossing film in its first week
Despite the controversies and protests of the extremist Hindus, the movie ‘Pathan’ by the King of Bollywood Shahrukh Khan became the first Bollywood movie to earn a record on the first day of its release.
‘Pathan‘ became the first Indian film to cross 100 crores on the first day, while the film had already created many new records by earning two billion rupees in two days.
The film was released on January 25 on 8,000 cinema screens across the world, including India, despite severe criticism from Hindu extremists.
Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham’s film was also the first film to be released on a record 8,000 screens worldwide and now the film earned a new honor by earning 542 crores i.e. 5 billion 42 crore rupees in the first week.
According to the Indian newspaper ‘Indian Express’, ‘Pathan’ earned Rs 280 crore by the end of January 28, after which the film broke the record on Sunday, January 29, earning Rs 542 crore in its first week.
Along with the record grossing, ‘Pathan’ also became the first Indian film to become the highest-grossing film in its first week of release.
