Rubina Ashraf Defends Barzakh
Zee5 and Zee Zindagi’s latest product is called Barzakh. It is a Pakistani show created by Asim Abbasi and starring Fawad Khan, Sanam Saeed, M Fawad Khan, and Salman Shahid. Barzakh is currently receiving a lot of flak for its LGBT overtones, and viewers aren’t appreciating the storyline’s radical parts. Many artists have condemned Barzakh, while others have advocated for the creation of any form of content.
Rubina is an experienced artist with a long list of dramas under her belt, and she also evaluates other dramas on the show. She was a guest on Subh Saveray Samaa Ke Saath and had a unique perspective on Barzakh. She justified the play by citing various instances from other shows.
Rubina stated that we have produced dramas on numerous issues that are deemed taboo. She stated that we created Udaari and Mayi Ri in this country. We’ve even created dramas on incest. Dramas reflect society’s reality rather than the other way around. Thus, Barzakh is also a play that depicts reality, and individuals can choose to protect themselves from what is happening in the world.
