Pakistani cricketer Shadab Khan has finally responded to charges made by TikTok sensation Shahtaj Khan about their alleged connection. The incident began in September 2024, when Shahtaj said she had been communicating with Shadab over WhatsApp and Instagram for several months.

Shadab, who married Saqlain Mushtaq’s daughter in January 2023, recently appeared on a comedy show on a private TV station and was questioned about such allegations, notably from actresses who frequently say that cricketers send them messages. The host questioned if the charges were true or just gossip.

Shadab replied openly, “I think even if they do, what’s wrong with that? If you don’t like it, don’t respond; ignore it.” He clarified: “If she responds, it means she’s also interested in the conversation.”

The all-rounder also stated that many of these statements, particularly those made during cricket tournaments, are frequently overstated to gain attention. “There’s nothing like what’s being claimed,” he told me. “These things are often just said to gain fame.”

Shadab acknowledged that cricketers frequently joke about such stories among themselves, asking each other, “Who sent that message?”.

The scandal escalated when Shahtaj Khan appeared on Mathira’s show, where she expressed her enthusiasm for Shadab and disclosed that she had come to Lahore to see his matches. She was likewise disappointed when Shadab married, saying it affected her greatly.

Following Shadab’s marriage, Shahtaj allegedly insulted him in a private conversation with friends, which was then leaked and went viral, eliciting emotions from Shadab’s fans.
