Shushmita Singh shared that working with Diljit Dosanjh left a lasting impact on her. The Bollywood actress stars in Diljit Dosanjh’s latest music video, Tension, whose first look has just been unveiled. In a conversation with TOI, Singh opened up about her experience of sharing screen space with the Punjabi superstar.
She said, “I always believe in being prepared for any opportunity that comes my way. When I received the call for this project, I was surprised but quickly focused on giving my best, ensuring every shot was perfect in a single take.”
Praising Diljit, she added, “His authenticity is truly inspiring, and it left a deep impression on me. The song is a beautiful celebration, blending modern and traditional elements, making it a perfect tribute to Diljit’s incredible journey. I am extremely grateful for this opportunity. It feels like the start of something bigger, and I’m excited to see where this journey leads me.”
This isn’t Shushmita Singh’s first music video—she previously appeared alongside Salim-Sulaiman in Sajda Ve. She has also been part of several TV shows, including Mehndi Wala Ghar and Aankh Micholi.
Starting her modeling career at just 14, she had a clear vision of ruling the runway. In 2019, she made history as the first Asian and Indian to win Miss Teen World. That same year, she delivered an impactful TEDx talk, earning widespread praise.
In 2022, she was crowned Miss India United Continents and appointed Youth Ambassador for Road Safety with the World Series for an impressive eight-year term. She is now set to appear in two upcoming films, Headlines Today and Main.
