Tauqeer Nasir says new actors spend more time on makeup than on the script
Tauqeer Nasir worked during the golden era of Pakistan Television (PTV) and has played over 500 roles. In 1999, he was also honored with the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz by the government.
Recently, the veteran actor appeared on a comedy show on a private TV channel, where he reminisced about the golden days of PTV along with discussing acting.
Recalling the past, he said, “We were lucky to have the opportunity to work with Ashfaq Ahmed and Yawar Hayat. They used to sit with us, guide us, and strictly make us rehearse.”
Tauqeer Nasir pointed out that today’s actors do not rehearse and prefer shortcuts. He said, “Nowadays, actresses spend two hours on makeup. If they spent that time on the script, their work would look much better.”
