Pakistan’s renowned actress Zeba Bakhtiar has revealed the reasons for rejecting 16 Bollywood films. Zeba Bakhtiar is not only a celebrated actress in Pakistani showbiz but has also made her mark in Bollywood. Her film “Henna”, in which she starred alongside the late Rishi Kapoor, is still considered a classic. Her beauty and acting talent created a sensation in Bollywood at that time.

Recently, Zeba Bakhtiar appeared on a show and spoke about her experience working in Bollywood. She said, “I consider working in Raj Kapoor’s film a rare opportunity in my career, and I am extremely grateful for this experience.”

She revealed that after Henna, she received offers for 16 Bollywood films, but she rejected all of them. Explaining the reason, she said, “I was very cautious about the type of roles I would choose in Bollywood.”

She further explained, “I liked the stories and characters of those films, but every film had at least one scene or song that I couldn’t agree to. Specifically, I refused to wear a saree and get wet in rain songs, so I declined those films.”

Zeba Bakhtiar also commented that when a Pakistani actor returns after working in Bollywood or any international industry, they receive more recognition and fame.

She pointed out, “Unfortunately, in Pakistan, people have always preferred imported things, and the same mindset applies to artists as well.”

It is noteworthy that Zeba Bakhtiar is among the few Pakistani actresses who, despite working in Bollywood, never compromised on their principles and always prioritized dignity and traditions.
