Pakistani drama industry’s popular couple, Iqra Aziz and Yasir Hussain, have shared the reason behind their preference for their son, Kabir Hussain, to speak Urdu.

Iqra and Yasir are among the most successful couples in the entertainment industry, widely loved for their powerful acting and unique style.

The couple tied the knot on December 28, 2019, and welcomed their son, Kabir Hussain, in 2021.

Like his parents, Kabir also remains in the media spotlight. However, Iqra and Yasir prefer to keep their son’s pictures and private life mostly away from social media.

Iqra and Yasir Talk About Teaching Urdu to Their Son

Recently, the couple appeared in a Ramadan transmission, where they explained why they emphasize speaking Urdu at home.

Iqra Aziz shared, “We mostly prefer speaking Urdu at home so that Kabir stays connected to his national language and can speak it fluently.”

Yasir Hussain Shares an Interesting Incident

Yasir narrated a funny incident, saying, “One day, a man on set came to me in surprise and said, ‘Oh wow! Kabir is speaking Urdu! We usually see celebrity kids speaking only in English.’”

He further added, “That person told me, ‘You should teach him English because he will eventually learn Urdu anyway. It’s an easy language to pick up.’”

Yasir Hussain’s Perspective on Language

Yasir expressed his different perspective, saying, “I believe we should have complete command over Urdu. I myself learned English later, so any language can be learned at any age.”

He emphasized, “Using and speaking our mother tongue fluently is very important. Urdu is our identity, and I want my son to take pride in it and learn it properly.”
