Zainab Jamil was a former Pakistani model and television actress. She started her career as a host for Aftab Iqbal’s show Khabanak. Zainab switched to acting, and her major dramas include Aap ki Kaneez, Lamhay, Meri Rani, Susraal Meri Behan Ka, and Khwab Saraey. She also appeared in Jawani Phir Nahi Aani, with Hamza Ali Abbasi. Zainab Jamil recently made headlines for a murder attempt on her by her husband in Lahore.
The actress appeared on Suno Digital’s podcast, where she discussed her ex-husband’s tortuous behaviour and her abusive marriage life.
When asked about meeting her ex-husband, Zainab explained, “It was a love marriage; I knew my ex-husband, and he was very serious about me. He was pressing me to marry him and was really insistent. He asked me to leave my profession to marry him. Well, I met him in Lahore, and when I arrived in Karachi, he began pressuring me for marriage; I couldn’t even examine him and fell into his trap, especially when he said, “Leave your profession and sit at home; you don’t need to work.” In two years, he had completely captivated me, I was under his control, and I wanted to marry him, but my family was opposed.
